- Leading Consignor by Average.
Includes the consignors of three or more yearlings sold at major North American auctions of 2009, with specific emphasis on the Southwest Regional States of Texas and Louisiana Public Auctions. Yearling statistics include results for sales held July 1 through December 31st.
Sales Representation
4M Ranch has successfully consigned horses at Kentucky, Florida, Louisiana and Texas sales. As Agents, our responsibilities are extremely varied from showmanship to thorough, accurate information being communicated to the potential buyers. Commission and other necessary items such as advertisement, sale halter, stall card, hauling, grooming, etc. are not included in day rate.
Sales Preparation
4M Ranch offers complete, thorough sales preparation for weanlings, yearlings and mares. Daily rate includes stall board, individual turn-out paddock, show-handling, bathing, grooming, conditioning by hand-walking, equine exerciser and ponying.
Sales prep service includes hoof care (feet are trimmed monthly), and monthly weight and height measurement documentation. In addition, our sales prep service includes a customized feeding program tailored to each individual horse, some being fed up to three times a day if necessary.
Year Round Boarding (weanlings, yearlings & mares)
All horses are individually fed twice daily, during which each horse is assessed to determine possible general health needs such as fly spraying, hoof care, etc. Our feeding program is designed for each individual horse's nutritional needs in terms of growth, pregnancy and special needs. Our program also includes the feeding of horse quality alfalfa and coastal hays.
We document the growth rate (weight & height) and trimming of hooves of each foal once a month to evaluate the possible changes in nutritional values that may become necessary as the foal grows. This is continued until the horse has left the Ranch for 2-yr Old Training or a Public Auction.
Note: Boarding rates do not include veterinary services, medications, lab feeds, blacksmith work, vaccinations, de-worming or other such services. All rates quoted are per horse per day.
Lay-Ups
Consideration is given to the needs of each individual and priced according to the seriousness of a possible injury, or in an individual is just in need of a little R & R.
Foaling
The foaling program at 4M provides a spacious 12' x 24' foaling stall, excellent veterinary services, experienced staff who enjoys working with mares & foals and individual turnout paddocks for new moms and their foals. As an added bonus, we can help you with your foal registrations (identification, photos & DNA analysis) with the The Jockey Club and Texas-bred program.
Hauling - Not for Hire
4M Ranch provides equine transportation for our clients (owners who board at our ranch) and for horses in our sales prep program. The gooseneck trailers owned and used by 4M are equipped with video cameras so that all horses can be viewed during travel. In addition, the trailers have both box stall and slant stall lay-outs to accommodate the requirements of the horse. All horses have continual access to water and alfalfa hay during the trips.
