VLT BILLS INTRODUCED IN TEXAS LEGISLATURE    

 Texas H.O.R.S.E. announced today its enthusiastic support for a constitutional amendment that will authorize video lottery gaming (also referred to as slot machines) at the 13 licensed horse and greyhound racetracks in Texas and provide that the three federally recognized Indian tribes in Texas are not prohibited from operating video lottery machines on their tribal lands.  Read full story here.

4M Ranch's Sales Statistics for 2009 Sales Year

  • Leading Consignor by Average.  

Includes the consignors of three or more yearlings sold at major North American auctions of 2009, with specific emphasis on the Southwest Regional States of Texas and Louisiana Public Auctions.  Yearling statistics include results for sales held July 1 through December 31st.

 

The 4M Ranch is owned and operated by Jim and Heidie Maikranz, and is located outside of Rochelle, Texas in McCulloch County.  Established in 1993, with the purchase of a little over one thousand acres in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country, the 4M Ranch land contains rolling hills and mineral-filled bottom lands. Continuous improvements to the Equine Operation’s Facilities have helped make the 4M Ranch a world-class thoroughbred operation.  The facilities now include:

Pastures

300 acres of fenced pastures, separated into 12 paddocks ranging from 5 to 35 acres.

  • Two of the main mare pastures have access to the 50-acre lake.
  •  Each  pasture has its own run-in shed and individual feeding pans for secure and accurate feeding.
  •  Seven 100' x 50' individual mini paddocks for special needs such as injury, lay-ups etc. 
  • All seven have their own run-in sheds and separate feeding.

Barns and Amenities

A 10-stall, open-air barn with two 12x 24 foaling stalls and  a 15-stall, open-air barn.

  • Stalls measure 12' x 12' for equine comfort and safety
  • All stalls are sky-lighted, with automatic fly-spray system and overhead fans.
  • Timed Light System for Mare Heat Cycle Programming.
  • Exterior Wash Rack Area.
  • Electronic Scale System for weight monitoring
  • Superior cross ventilation for supreme summer comfort
